Immerse Yourself in Tailored Wellness Experiences Designed to Nurture Your Body, Mind, and Spirit.

What is self-care to you? Self-care is not just eating a nice healthy meal and creating a 6-pack at the gym. It is the action you take to meet all your physical, mental, spiritual, or emotional needs. We tend to put ourselves last, at the very bottom of our priority list because when we stop doing something to take care of our needs; people or even yourself think of it as laziness and feel guilty about it.  Well, I hate to break the news to you; if you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be there to help others. Therefore, make an effort to put yourself first without feeling guilty. In this post, I will share 15 self-care ideas to kickstart a healthy lifestyle.

  1. Take a leisurely walk without a goal.
  2. Finish this sentence: “I love myself because I ______________.” Do this once per day, with a new ending each time.
  3. Take a mental health day—and feel not an ounce of guilt about it.
  4. Buy a bouquet of fresh flowers.
  5. Get in the habit of making your first positive thought for the day: “I am ready for today.” “Today is a new opportunity.” “I will do something I am proud of today.”
  6. Don’t wait an eternity. Go treat yourself. Walk around the fancy grocery store without a list while taking healthy precautions of course. Buy some stuff just for fun. (Don’t spend money you don’t have though! That will stress you more).
  7. Go to a comedy club. Laugh till it hurts
  8. Cook yourself a fancy meal for no other reason. You just deserve a fancy meal.
  9. Sing! Turn up your favorite sing-along tunes.
  10. Go for a drive with your music on. No destination is required.
  11. Allow yourself to sleep in a couple of extra hours this weekend; errands and chores can wait! Your family will survive. Stop putting yourself last for a moment
  12. Paying it forward, buy lunch for the next person behind you in line, or do anything you can do to put a smile on the next person‘s face.
  13. Write positive affirmations or inspirational quotes on small pieces of paper, then go to a bookstore and hide them in random books for strangers to find.
  14. I struggle with this one myself but if you need help, ask for it. It sounds simple, but trying to handle everything without help causes more stress.
  15. Create a vision board. Vision boards are great for manifesting whatever you desire. Visualize your lifestyle, what you want, and what it takes to get there while cultivating a healthy routine for to reach your goal.

Self-care is anything that you can prevent from becoming worse, such as your stress level, back discomfort, or depression. So, do it often and kickstart a healthy habit.
