Waking up early to catch the first sail was a breeze given the anticipation of the adventure ahead. As the sun began to rise, painting the sky with hues of pink and orange, I made my way to Waikiki Beach, right in front of the Royal Hawaiian and Outrigger resorts.
Stepping onto the sand, I spotted the catamaran waiting for its passengers. Hair down, water shoes on, and a happy face. The sense of excitement was palpable as we boarded the boat, ready for a memorable voyage. The catamaran left directly from the beach, gliding effortlessly over the gentle waves as we watched the local athletes competed in water sport. Let’s not forget the amazing dolphins jumping through the water.
As we sailed out towards Diamond Head, which is the iconic volcanic crater that stands sentinel over Honolulu; The views were nothing short of spectacular. The ocean sparkled under the morning sun, and the breeze was refreshing against the warmth of the Hawaiian day.
The crew was very welcoming and attentive, serving drinks and cocktails that added to the laid-back atmosphere of the sail. With a tropical drink in hand, I leaned back and soaked in the stunning scenery. Diamond Head grew larger as we approached, its rugged slopes a striking contrast to the blue expanse of the ocean. FYI: all drink came at an extra fee, but it was worth it.
The return journey was just as delightful, with the catamaran cruising smoothly back to Waikiki Beach while jamming on sone good music. The combination of the beautiful surroundings, the friendly crew, and the refreshing drinks made for an unforgettable experience. By the time we returned to the shore, I felt both exhilarated and relaxed, ready to continue exploring the wonders of Waikiki.
This catamaran sail truly encapsulated the essence of a Hawaiian adventure – a perfect blend of natural beauty, relaxation, and fun.
